Kate is a registered psychologist who is passionate about assisting people develop self-confidence and to understand their own mental health. Kate has a background of professional experience within the forensic environment with both men and women with a speciality in risk assessments and short-term intervention in particular with drug and alcohol abuse and violence. Kate uses evidence-based practices including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Schema therapy and EMDR to form individualised treatment plans with clients based on their needs and desired outcomes. This collaborative approach to therapy helps clients to identify goals and strengths within themselves and to build upon them when faced with stressful situations.
Kate has a keen interest in sports psychology and working with developing athletes to enhance performance, cope with the pressure of competition and achieve their full potential. Kate was also an elite swimmer for Australia, she has skills in the area of sports Psychology. Additionally Kate is trained Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
